Sport: Basketball

This term has been very busy with four teams participating in the Cork Post Primary School Leagues. U16 and senior girls were beaten in close games in the semi-final of the ‘A’ leagues. U16 boys play Carrigaline Community School in their semi-final of the league. The senior boys were convincing winners against close rivals BCS. They now go on to represent Cork in the All-Ireland series. South Post Primary teams Four first year students and one second year student were selected on the South Post Primary teams - congratulations to Róisín O’Mahony, Meadbh Flynn, Colin Murray, Seán Lynch and Jason O’Keeffe. Two senior boys Jamie Twohig and Ciarán Ó Sulleabháin are members of the Irish U18 team. Samantha Coomey is a member of the Irish U16 team. VEC Competitions VEC competitions have begun. Senior girls have qualified for the final in January. Other groups are still participating. First and second year competition will begin post Christmas. Training is ongoing.
