Student Council Meetings

Student Council 2009/2010
The aims of the Student Council are:
1. To provide students with a forum in which they can air their views and discuss any issues relevant to them.
2. To voluntarily assist in organising some charitable events during the year
.

The newly elected Colaiste Choilm Student Council was officially unveiled at a Launch Ceremony on Monday 5th October. Included at the Launch were Mr. Pat Kinsella, Principal,Teacher Clara Murphy and Fr. James Mc Sweeney, Chaplain. New Student Council official photograph taken at one of the new Picnic Tables which were presented in September to the 1st years students on behalf of the Student Council. Included in photo: Chairperson Aimee Desmond, Vice Chairperson Diarmuid Hayes and Secretary Tara Nelligan and Treasurer Jake Murphy PR Rep Amy Fitzgerald. Wishing the new Student Council a very successful year.

A senior student chairs the meeting and issues raised are noted and acted on where possible
At Christmas the student reps were involved in collecting donations from their classes in order to purchase items for the St. Vincent de Paul Christmas Hampers.

Evening Study

The students have found the Evening Study very helpful in the past.  Freed from the distractions of friends calling, phone, T.V. and normal household interruptions, the hours spent studying in a structured environment can be very productive.
All students may avail of the evening study programme.  However, priority will be given, if it is oversubscribed, to examination and senior students.
