THE school had 34 projects in the exhibition. This is
a major achievement in it’s own right. In addition
14 awards came to the school across the full range
of categories. Most notable was the Overall
Runner-up accolade achieved by Ellie Townsend,
Lisa O’Sullivan and Ciara McCarthy for their project
‘Let Rip: The Physics of Perforations’. In addition
they received the Intel Travel Award, which
enables them to participate in the Atlanta Science
Fair in May. They will be accompanied by their
teacher Karen Daly. They also received the Physics
Association of Ireland Award.
Ciara Mulvihill and Aoife Duggan were 1st in the
Chemical Physical & Mathematical Science,
Intermediate section for their project ‘What Are
The Odds?’.
Joey Donovan was 2nd in the Senior Technology
section for his project ‘How The Motor Industry Can
Axe Out Drink Driving”. Sheila Dineen was 3rd in
the Intermediate Biological & Ecological section
