Mr. Pádraig Kinsella, príomhoide Coláiste Choilm / Gaelcholáiste Cholm made his final intercom announcement to the school community at 4pm on Friday 10th February 2012. Dúirt sé go raibh a chuid ranganna críochnaithe agus an clog deirneach buailte dó i saol na scoile. Mr. Kinsella was appointed principal to Coláiste Choilm in 1987 during its residence at the Ballincollig GAA Club and presided over the school's 25 year flourishing including the opening of the Gaelcholáiste in 1991. P.K was given a great send-off by the various year groups and several presentations were made during the week. Go n-éiri go geal leis !!

 Congratulations to Stephen Falvey this years winner of the X-Factor talent show. Well done to all participants and thanks to all the supporters and fans.The 2012 X Factor Talent Competition Final took place on Wednesday 25th January at 19:30 in the Cultúrlann.
The show wasorganised by TY students . The event showcased nine acts from junior cycle. Proceeds were in aid of "Hope Foundation", "Belarus Orphanage Project" and the "Surgeon Noonan Project". Present or past-pupils are involved in all 3 projects

Well done to the Coláiste Choilm Senior Girls football team who played against tremendous opposition from St.Flannan's College, Ennis on Tuesday January 24th 2012. It was all part of the action from the Munster Girls School Football final in which St.Flannan's went on to win. Well done to all the panel and their trainers Ms. Cotter and Mr. Dennehy
Thanks to all the supporters who travelled to Effin on the day including classmates, friends and family and other fans.
