Hour of Code 2015

The Hour of Code is a worldwide event run to promote coding. Over 150 million people from the ages of 4 to 104 are taking part by learning an hour of code between Dec 7th - Dec 13th.
Colaiste Choilm is hosting an hour of code during classes as part of the almost 350 schools and institutions organising an event.
Particpation is free at - so try just 60 minutes this week on one of the tutorials from Star Wars to Minecraft to Frozen to Flappy Bird.

German debaters advance in Competition

Students show Solidarity with the People of Paris

On Mon Nov 16th Coláiste Choilm observed a minute's silence in memory of the victims of the attacks on Paris.
In the social area Staff, students, and visitors alike have the opportunity to sign a book of condolences in solidarity with the people of France.
Students have displayed some photos of their recent Art trip to Paris.

TY group visit Film Exhibition as part of Creative Engagement

TY creative engagement trip to Kilkenny to see Song of the Sea in the cinema and also the exhibition for the film in the Butler gallery.In the film Ben, a young Irish boy, and his little sister Saoirse, a girl who can turn into a seal, go on an adventure to free the faeries and save the spirit world.


TY hit the Ploughing Championship 2015

A large TY contingent visited the National Ploughing Championship in Rathaniska, Co. Laois to view the 1,400 stands, sample the free food and meet some very famous people !

Nuacht na Scoile September 2015

This newsletter gives an insight into the rich environment cultivated by students and staff every day here in Coláiste/Gaelcholáiste Choilm. The school is about life enhancement - developing the potential of all through a spectrum of experiences.
The successes, levels of endeavour and performances of the past year are second to none.   We have wonderful memories of the school shows Evita and Áille agus Állta, the great achievements of the senior soccer team, the visit to Áras an Uachtaráin and much, much more.  We extend our gratitude to all who daily create the context in which every student is enabled to make the most of his or her potential.
