Junior Golfers 2nd in Munster Schools Championship

Coláiste Choilm came second in the Irish Schools Junior Championship (Munster Section) at Mallow Golf Course on Thursday 29th September. Stephen Riordan, John Lehane and Jack O Keeffe, all sencond year students represented the school. The boys finished second out of 12 schools losing by the narrowest of margins, a single stroke. Their Net score of 146 was the 3rd highest of the 31 participating schools in the four Munster sections. Welll done to the Junior Golf Team on their great performance.

Architecture in Schools Initiative 2016

The Transition Year Architects in School exhibition which is currently on display in Ballincollig Shopping Centre is the showcase of the fantastic work done by TY Students 2016 in Coláiste Choilm

The Architecture in Schools Initiative is a project set up by the Irish Architecture Foundation and the Department of Education to promote architecture in Schools. As part of the project each school collaborated with a local architect. Colaiste Choilm was one of twenty schools in Ireland selected to participate in the project in 2014. A group of twenty five transition year students were exposed to what architecture is through a series of design workshops and tutorials. As part of the programme the students did field trips to the Glucksmann Gallery, the National Sculpture Factory and the Architecture School; Cork College of Architecture Education on Copley Street.

CC/GC Rugby Team win Aidan Ross Memorial Cup !!

Coláiste Choilm recently won the Aidan Ross Memorial Cup, which was held in Dunmanway RFC on Thursday the 28th of April. The school entered two teams into the competition as the sport is growing in popularity amongst our students.

Our 'A' side beat Clonakilty Community School in a dramatic final. A great team effort was produced by the players throughout the tournament. Pictured below being presented the cup is team captain Ciaran Bohane (who currently plays with Ballincollig RFC and is involved with Munster RFC at underage).

COLÁISTE CHOILM WIN THREE NATIONAL BASKETBALL AWARDS

At the recent Basketball Ireland National Annual Awards Coláiste Choilm was awarded 'Boys A' -'School of the Year', Francis O'Sullivan was awarded 'Boys-School Coach of the Year' and Dylan Corkery was awarded 'Male U19 - Schools Player of the Year'. This is a magnificent achievement for the school. Congratulations to all basketball players and many thanks to the wonderful coaches and mentors for their commitment and encouragement.

Colm wins STEM Gold Medal

Congratulations to Colm Hannon ( Leaving Cert 2015) who was awarded a Gold Medal by the Cork Schools Science Committee for achieving the highest mark in Higher Level Mathematics in County Cork. Maith Thú Colm. He is picture here with his parents Mary and Chris and Principal Michelle Sliney.
